What to Watch: Olympic Trials Day 8
In the homestretch of the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon, day eight includes two finals on the track and one field event final -- the men's Discus. All of the action at Hayward Field will start at 3:00 p.m. PT with the first round of the women's pole vault. Shortly after the vault are first round races for two sprint events -- the men's 110m hurdles at 3:02 p.m. PT followed by the women's 200m at 3:30 p.m.

Men's Discus Final

The men's discus will be the first final of the day that begins at 3:30 p.m PT. Leading the field is former Wyoming All American Mason Finley and behind him is collegiate star Sam Mattis of Penn. Rounding out the top three is Andrew Evans, the bronze medalist at the USATF Outdoor Championships last year.

Women's 100m Hurdles

At 3:58 p.m. PT, the women in the 100m hurdles will race for a spot in the final which is the last event of the day at 5:54 p.m. Keni Harrison is a favorite to take the title in this event. After a disappointing eighth-place finish at world indoors, Harrison went on to set the American record (12.24) in the 100m hurdles at the Prefontaine Classic in May.

Men's 1500m Semi-Final

Qualifying rounds of the men's high jump will start at 4:00 p.m. PT, before the second round of the men's 1500m at 4:12 p.m. The lop-sided distribution in the heats have stirred quite a bit of controversy.

Men's and Women's 400m Hurdles Semi-Final

Following the 1500s is the second round of the 400m hurdles at 4:31 p.m. PT where the field will be narrowed from 16 runners to eigtht who will race in Sunday's final. In the women's race, former Texas A&M standout and 2015 world silver medalist Shamier Little will look for her first win as a professional wearing her Adidas kit. On the men's side, 2012 Olympic silver medalist Michael Tinsley will take on Bershawn "Batman" Jackson and Johnny Dutch who both won their heats yesterday.

Women's 1500m Semi-Final

At 5:03 p.m. PT it will be time for the women's 1500m semi-final. Because of small field size, most competitors made it out of the first round yesterday but only 12 will advance to the final on Sunday. Current high school stars Christina Aragon and Kate Murphy will take on two former high school stars who turned pro-Mary Cain and Alexa Efraimson.

Men's 3k Steeple Final

After watching Bowerman teammates Courtney Frerichs and Colleen Quigley go two-three in the women's final last night, Evan Jager will take his turn in an attempt to make the Olympic team. Jager toes the line tonight at 5:23 p.m. PT. Also in the mix should be Donn Cabral who finished with the top time of 8:26.96 in the first round on Monday as well as Jager's teammates Andrew Bayer and Dan Huling.

Men's 200m Semi-Final

Before the women's 100m hurdle finals, two prep stars Noah Lyles and Michael Norman will take on the pros in the 200m at 5:37 p.m. PT. Florida commit Lyles felt confident about his prelim yesterday where he ran 20.04 (ties No. 2 all-time for all-conditions) and says he's confident that he has what it takes to run with the big guys.
