Kenyan Elijah Manangoi Out Of The Men's 1500 With Injury
According to reports in Kenyan media and LetsRun, Elijah Manangoi is out of tonight's 1500m semifinals with a torn hamstring. He automatically qualified out of the prelims but apparently injured himself in the process.

This is a major development. Manangoi was the third fastest performer in the world in 2016, behind only his Kenyan teammates Asbel Kiprop and Ronald Kwemoi; I picked him to win silver in our preview. He was scheduled to run in the same semi tonight as Robby Andrews and Matt Centrowitz.

The men's 1500m semifinals are tonight at 7:45 Eastern. The Americans chances of advancing and medaling have seriously improved, as Manangoi won't be drinking any goat's blood in celebration this year.
