The race of the day - and maybe the year - in the DMV was the rematch between George C. Marshall's Heather Holt and Walter Johnson's Abigail Green. Holt had beaten Green at last year's DCXC sophomore race, as well as this year's Oatlands Invitational, and she kept the streak going by running 16:56 - yes, 16:56, in an amazing winning effort. Green turned in a solid race of her own, finishing second with a final time of 17:14.

This was the third year of the DCXC Invite, and the third win for Thomas Jefferson S&T's Saurav Velleleth. Williams' John Mackey was second in 15:06; the top Maryland runner was Charles E. Smith's Reuben Winston, who finished seventh with a time of 15:59.
