US Sprinter Trell Kimmons Accepts 2-Year Doping Suspension
U.S. sprinter Trell Kimmons tested positive for a banned substance and has accepted a two-year suspension, according to USADA.

Kimmons tested positive on March 12 at the USATF Indoor Championships for banned stimulant 1,3-dimethylbutylamine. According to USADA's investigation, the substance was ingested through a supplement. He accepted the suspension on April 14.

FloTrack talked with Kimmons after his third-place performance in Portland, the day of his positive drug test:

1,3-dimethylbutylamine is fairly new on the list of banned substances. Australia's anti-doping agency announced the stimulant as newly banned in 2014, while the UK announced its ban in April 2015.

Kimmons, 31, finished third in the 60m at the USATF Indoor Championships. He was a three-time member of Team USA at the World Indoor Championships and is mostly known for being a member of the 2012 Olympic team in the men's 4x100m relay. Kimmons, Tyson Gay, Justin Gatlin and Ryan Bailey initially earned the silver medal in London before being stripped of it in 2015 due to Gay's doping scandal.
