Beer mile world record-holder Corey Bellemore signed an endorsement deal with adidas.
Beer mile world record-holder Corey Bellemore signed an endorsement deal with adidas, becoming the second beer mile athlete to be under a professional contract. Bellemore's endorsement is taking place one year after former world record-holder Lewis Kent signed with Brooks as the first beer miler under a professional contract.
"I think with the exposure we created last year around Lewis, more companies are thinking of getting involved in beer mile," Bellemore and Kent's manager Kris Mychasiw told TMZ Sports.
The 22-year-old University of Windsor athlete broke the beer mile world record this summer in a span of four days when he ran 4:39 in a time trial and returned to compete at the Beer Mile World Classic in London where he clocked a stunning 4:34 victory.
The mark is currently No. 1 on the BeerMile.com all-time list and is 13 seconds faster than Kent's former world record of 4:47 which he recorded when he won the 2015 FloTrack Beer Mile World Championships.
Bellemore is also an accomplished track runner sans beer-chugging. In 2015, he claimed the Canadian national championship in the 800m and posted a personal best of 1:47.68.
Bellemore and Kent will face-off against a tough field at the FloTrack Beer Mile World Championships on Dec. 17.
