The rich just got richer.

Harvard All-American Courtney Smith has transferred to Stanford University for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Smith did not compete on the track in 2017 but looks to make an immediate impact for the Cardinal women this cross country season. Smith is the second notable Harvard transfer in recent years, back in 2014 Maksim Korolev transferred to Stanford after completing his degree at Harvard.

The Stanford women return a majority of their squad from their fifth place finish last year. The addition of Smith as well as FloTrack's No. 1 ranked incoming freshman class featuring #3 Nevada Mareno, #9 Julia Heymach, #10 Jessica Lawson, #23 Jordan Oakes and Kaitlin Ryan, makes the Stanford Cardinal instant title contenders.
