Boyer earns CoSIDA All-District accolades
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – For the third straight year, Lane Boyer has been voted onto the CoSIDA Academic Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team. The Razorback senior earned a spot on the District IV First Team and is now eligible for Academic All-America
honors. He was previously selected to the academic squad in 2010 and 2011.
Boyer was the 2012 Southeastern Conference outdoor champion at 5,000 meters, his first career individual conference title. Heading into the NCAA Preliminary weekend, he owned
the fastest times in the SEC at 5,000 meters (14:01.84) and 10,000 meters (29:29.52). In addition to his victory at the conference meet, he finished in fifth place at 10,000 meters. In his final season as a Razorback, he was a qualifier for the NCAA West Preliminary
in both long-distance events. At the SEC indoor meet, Boyer was the runner-up at 3,000 and 5,000 meters.
With his latest selection, the Fredonia, Kan., native is now a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District performer. He has also been a past member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and USTFCCCA
All-Academic Team. Boyer carries a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average as a geology major and posted a perfect 4.00 GPA during the 2011-12 academic season.
Boyer was one of only two student-athletes from the SEC to earn District VI honors. Coupled with selections from District IV, eight men from the conference were recognized. For more information
