Ruby Stauber To Transfer From LSU To Oregon
Ruby Stauber, a sophomore at LSU, is reportedly transferring to the University of Oregon.
After a standout freshman season with LSU, Ruby Stauber will take her talents to the Pacific Northwest to compete for the University of Oregon. A since-deleted tweet from the Wayzata High School girls cross country account first made the announcement, and FloTrack later confirmed it with Stauber.
As a Tiger, Stauber set a lifetime best of 2:03.01 in the 800m at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships for fifth, and finished runner-up at the SEC indoor and outdoor championships in 2:04.31 and 2:03.95, respectively.
On the prep level, Stauber boasted quite the resume and earned hardware at some of the nation's most prestigious meets:
2016 U.S. Junior Bronze Medalist (800 Meters)
2016 New Balance Outdoor Nationals Silver Medalist (800 Meters)
2016 New Balance Indoor Nationals Silver Medalist (800 Meters)
2015 Minnesota Gatorade Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year
2015 U.S. Junior Silver Medalist (800 Meters)
2015 Pan American Junior Championships Qualifier
2014 AAU National Junior Olympics Silver Medalist (800 Meters)
Stauber is eligible to begin competing for the Ducks right away if she chooses — the earliest we could see her rocking a green and yellow jersey could be the UW Indoor Preview on January 13.
