Wisconsin has added another key lineup piece in its quest to continue moving up the NCAA team ladder.

All-American Taylor LaMont announced Tuesday that he plans to finish his college career with the Badgers after making four trips to the NCAA Championships at Utah Valley, where he compiled a 69-21 record while bouncing between 125 and 133, including a 12-6 mark this past season.

In addition to his college feats, LaMont is a Greco standout who’s made seven age-group World Teams.

The Mapleton, Utah, native entered the transfer portal in April and considered Cal Poly, Iowa and Iowa State before picking Wisconsin. He’s joining a program that finished 14th at the NCAA Championships and had three All-Americans — Eric Barnett (125), Austin Gomez (149) and Dean Hamiti (165).

Along with Barnett, who still has a redshirt season at his disposal, and returning NCAA 133-pound qualifier Kyle Burwick, the addition of LaMont gives the Badgers another highly credentialed lightweight option.
