Watch the clip from the documentary series DRIVEN: LaShawn Merritt where the Olympic gold medalist shares his experience of switching coaches. In 2015, Merritt moved to Orlando, Florida to be coached by Brooks Johnson. To Merritt's surprise, Johnson told him that he needed to change his running form. The first test of the new training program and running style took place at the 2015 Drake Relays where Merritt finished a disappointing fifth-place. But despite the learning curve, Merritt remained committed to Johnson's program. The commitment paid off at the end of the season with a silver medal and personal best of 43.65 at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing.
