Women's 10k, Final - Sharon Lokedi defends Big 12 title

Sharon Lokedi defended her Big 12 10K title in 33:43.28 on her home track at the University of Kansas, setting a new Rock Chalk Park facility record. The win was an impressive step for the junior after redshirting the indoor season and putting together what has so far been a quiet outdoor campaign. Jocelyn Caro of Texas Tech ran a strong final two miles to move into runner-up status in 33:55.81, while early leader Lindsey Bradley of Baylor took third in her debut 10k in 33:59.56. Maggie Drazba (34:09.3) and Anne Frisbie (34:15.61) also ran under the previous facility record of 34:20.35, set last year by NCAA 5K and 10K champion Dom Scott of Arkansas.
