Kara Goucher knew she wanted to run the marathon when she saw Paula Radcliffe win New York in 2007. A year later, Kara made her marathon debut at the same race, placing 3rd to become the first American to make the podium since 1994. Even with her career trending up, she wanted more from life. In episode 2 of DRIVEN, Kara discusses her pregnancy and the birth of her son, Colt, in 2010. That experience opened her eyes to the stereotype that female athletes who want children are no longer serious about their sport. Watch as Kara reveals the challenges she faced balancing life as an elite athlete, and as a new mom.
