For most everyone on the New Mexico women's cross country team, coming to Albuquerque was a culture shock. Even head coach Joe Franklin had to get use to the unique foothills and altitude that the University of New Mexico boasts. Last year the Lady Lobos placed 3rd in the nation. This year with the international talent in Alice Wright, Calli Thackery and Rhona Auckland plus the addition of All-American Courtney Frerichs - the rest of the NCAA better take notice.
