Clayton Murphy turns pro after winning NCAA and Portland Track Fest 1500

NCAA indoor 800m and newly crowned 1500m champion Clayton Murphy of Akron won the Portland Track Festival 1500m race in 3:36.22 -- just shy of the Olympic standard (3:36.20). After the race, Murphy confirmed with FloTrack that he has signed with an agent and will forego his final year of eligibility at Akron.
