1. Felix Sanchez Goes Beast Mode



After failing to medal in Beijing, the 2004 Olympic Champion of the Dominican Republic had a crazy comeback today in the men's 400m hurdle final as he took Olympic Gold in a season's best of 47.63! Second place was another upset as Michael Tinsley of the US powered through to get the silver medal with a personal best of 47.91 in his first ever Olympic games!

2. Jen Suhr Gets First Olympic Gold


Jennifer Suhr of the USA had some sweet redemption tonight as the Beijing Silver medalist earned her first Olympic Gold medal in London. She vaulted a height of 4.75 meters to edge out Cuba's Yarisley Silva and Russia's World Record-Holder Elena Isinbaeva.

3. Zaripova's Steeple Domination


The women's steeplechase final was completely owned by 2011 World Champion Yuliya Zaripova who lead pretty much from the gun to win her first Olympic Gold medal with a personal best of 9:06.72.  The Russian continues to represent her country well in the event, following the 2008 Olympic Champion and World Record-holder Russian Gulnara Samitova-Galkina's performance of 8:58.81 in the 2008 final.

4. The Kid Goes Sub 44!


The men's 400m final was a historic effort by 19 year-old Grenada sprinting sensation Kirani James who took home the gold in his first ever Olympic Games. After his World Championships performance last year in Daegu and now this Gold medal performance, the kid has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with.

5. Americans on to the 1500 Semi's



The women's 1500 qualifying round was a success for all three Americans who each ran in different heats but all qualified for the semi-final round on Wednesday.  Shannon Rowbury qualified off of time for her 7th place finish in heat 1, Jenny Simpson was 6th in heat 2 and qualified despite a slow start, and Morgan Uceny qualified comfortably with a 2nd place finish in heat 3.
