Two-time world high jump champion Blanka Vlasic has withdrawn from the upcoming IAAF World Championships with an injury, according to Alfonz Juck of ENE News.

The ’11 World Championship silver medalist is no stranger to health issues. In January 2012, Vlasic had an operation on her left achilles tendon to "shave part of the tendon on her takeoff foot". Though the surgery went as planned, Vlasic developed an infection that required another surgery and eventually her withdrawal from the Olympic Games.

The Croatian is ranked third in the world in the high jump with a leap of 2.00m in Buhl, Germany. The only women ahead of her on that list are the London gold and silver medalists, Anna Chicherova and Brigetta Barrett respectively.

Heading into Moscow, the Olympic champion Chicherova is ranked second in the world with a jump of 2.02m from the Beijing World Challenge in May. Barrett has the world lead with a 2.04m mark from the U.S. Championships in June.
