Oscar Pistorius trial resumes tomorrow
The Oscar Pistorius murder trial will resume on Monday morning as pathologist Jan Botha will be the first witness called by the defense and not the double-amputee Olympian. The trial was delayed for the past week due to the illness of one of the judge’s assistants.
Pistorius shot and killed girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, a law school graduate and model, on Valentine’s Day of 2013. Pistorius faces a murder charge in which the prosecution looks to prove it was premeditated murder. The South African Olympian says he mistook her for a home invader and acted in self defense.
It has not been announced when Pistorius will take the stand.
If found guilty, Pistorius could face a sentence of at least 25 years in prison.
