In an unprecedented moment in FloTrack podcasting history, we bring on not one, but two LIVE guests!

First up is Stanford 5k champ Gabe Grunewald, who just grabbed the A standard and the win in 15:19.01 this past Friday in Palo Alto. You may remember Gabe as the winner of the controversial 2014 USATF indoor 3k, one of the wilder moments in US track history. Gabe was back in the headlines once again this week, not only for nailing the A standard, but also because it was the 6 year anniversary of her cancer diagnosis in 2009.

Gabe shares how special Friday night was for her, both for her running career and as a cancer survivor.

Our next guest was Drew Hunter, our first ever high school guest, who is racing the loaded Penn Relays mile coming up in three weeks. In 2014, Hunter set the sophomore 3k record at the Penn Relays, 8:16.31, and now he’ll face a tough task in one of the deepest prep miles in 2015.

Hunter comes from a running family, his dad ran 13:36 in the 5,000m and his mother was an 800m high school star in Virginia. Growing up in Virginia, Hunter’s parents coached Alan Webb during his high school years, and Drew remembers attending his practice as a toddler.

Finally, Lincoln shares the story of his awkward interview with Maggie Vessey over the weekend at Stanford. Jump to 35:50 into the podcast
