With the eyes of the track world upon them, Jenna Prandini and Marquis Dendy each won the prestigious honor of the Bowerman Award Thursday night in San Antonio, Texas. After beating out Bowerman finalists Kendra Harrison, Demi Payne, Shawn Barber and Edward Cheserek, both Prandini and Dendy were honored for exhibiting a wide-range of accomplishments that led to the NCAA trophy.

Prandini became the fourth Oregon Duck to win the Bowerman Award after Laura Roesler, Ashton Eaton, and Galen Rupp earned the honor after their respective senior seasons. Prandini scored the most points of any athlete at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships in 2015. She also captured the NCAA Indoor long jump title, finished runner-up in the 200m and fourth in the 60m. During the NCAA Outdoor Championships, she won the 100m title and finished runner-up in the 200m and long jump, earning 49 points total.

She also competed at the World Championships in August where she competed in the 200m and was a member of the silver-medal earning 4x100m relay team for Team USA. She also made her decision to forgo her senior season of eligibility at Oregon in favor of competing professionally for Puma.

Dendy of Florida won the Bowerman Award after going four-for-four at the NCAA Championships. Dendy is the first Florida Gator to win the award as former Gator and World Champion Christian Taylor was a Bowerman finalist in 2011 but did not take home the trophy. Dendy won both the long jump and triple jump at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships.

He competed in both events for Team USA at the World Championships in Beijing and is now competing professionally for Nike.
