What a time to be alive.

Nick Symmonds put 9 square inches of skin up for auction on eBay, an act he partook in during the 2012 Olympic year. His final payout? $21,800.

The arm space was bought by T-Mobile CEO John Legere, a longtime fan of the sport who provided prize money for Nick Willis' Michigan Track Classic in August of 2014 and has upped prize money incentives at other events such as the Carlsbad 5000m.

Symmonds sold his arm space in 2012 for $11,100 to Hanson Dodge Creative. Though he had to cover up the tattoo at the London Olympics, that only sparked more interest. Symmonds published this growth metric graph on his twitter.

Symmonds will open up his 2016 season with an 800m race at the Shanghai Diamond League on May 14.
