Update 7/7/2016: Little announced on Instagram that she will be representing adidas in the 400m hurdle prelims today at Hayward Field.
Shamier Little, three-time NCAA 400m hurdles champion, world junior champion, and world silver medalist, is turning professional.
Multiple industry sources told FloTrack that Little signed with Ricky Simms' PACE Sports Management agency. She went three for three in NCAA titles in the 400m hurdles at Hayward Field, and will look to continue her dominance in Eugene, Oregon, at this week's Olympic Trials. The women's 400m hurdles begin at 5:02 p.m. PST tomorrow.
Texas A&M head men's and women's coach Pat Henry is a victim of his own success. Little is the second NCAA champion from Texas A&M go pro in two and a half weeks; Donavan Brazier was the the first to sign. Little just finished her junior year, and Brazier was a freshman.
In 2015, Little became the first woman in 11 years to sweep the NCAA and USATF 400m hurdles titles, but returned to A&M for her junior year. Her value as a potential Olympian was enough to make her forgo her senior year.
We've reached out to Simms and will update when we receive comment.
