Noah Lyles of T.C. Williams, Va. made a statement in Heat 1 of the 200m prelims, winning the section outright with a blazing time of 20.04 (+3.3). That time ties for No. 2 all-time, all-conditions.

Three sections later, fellow recent high school graduate Michael Norman also won his prelim in an all-time fast mark -- 20.06, though his time was also aided by 2.8 meters per second. Norman now ranks No. 3 all-time, all-conditions.

After six prelim heats, the high schoolers' wind-aided times stood as the fastest marks of the day.
