Long Jumper Mike Hartfield Replacing Marquis Dendy in Rio

Mike Hartfield finished fifth in the long jump at the Olympic Trials, but today learned that he will be competing in the Rio Olympics. The LJ at the Trials was one of the best competitions in the history of the event:

Third-place finisher Will Claye doesn't have the Olympic standard, so fourth-place finisher Marquis Dendy was initially slated to go behind top two finishers Jeff Henderson and Jarrion Lawson. But Dendy injured himself at the Prefontaine Classic in May and it appears that his injuries are keeping him out of the Olympics.
