Alexi Pappas and her boyfriend/creative partner Jeremy Teicher made five very short movies for the New York Times in the five weeks leading up to the Olympics, where Pappas will run the 10K for Greece next Friday. The last one came out on Thursday.

The first one, "The Elite Runner," goes through a day of training with Pappas and Andrew Wheating (who co-stars in four of the five). The highlight is probably the tow of them pretending (?) to pee on the side of what looks like the Amazon Trail.

"When Runners Don't Have Real Jobs," is just a two-minute conversation between Pappas and Wheating about how they don't, well, have real jobs. It is delightful.

"Nightmares Mean You Care" is just a nightmare about being late for a race, a nightmare that every even mildly serious runner has had some variation of. Watch through the end.

"Group Run" is about an even scarier nightmare--when training partners are late or no-show for a run. I have been that guy for a decade, and definitely would have been left out of hundreds of runs if the rule "wait one minute for every five minutes the scheduled run was meant to last. Beyond that, it is considered acceptable to begin the run without the latecomers" was applied.

The final one, "Running For Your Past And Future Self," has Pappas and Wheating imagining themselves as very young and very old fans sitting in the stands and eating junk food.

They are all fun and good and a great way to kill time while not working.
