Olympic hurdler and Oregon wide receiver Devon Allen suffered a left-knee injury in the Ducks' game against Nebraska on Saturday, September 17. Duck Territory reported that Allen may be done for the season, but Oregon has not given an official statement yet.

Adding insult to injury, Allen wasn't even playing wide receiver or returning a kick when he injured his knee. He was on punt coverage, and stumbled before missing a tackle.

Allen won the NCAA and USATF 110m hurdle titles as a freshman in 2014. He tore his right ACL during the 2014 Rose Bowl (on January 1, 2015) against Florida State, and missed both indoor and outdoor track seasons in 2015. He returned to football and track last season, and he captured wins at the NCAA indoor (60m hurdles) and outdoor championships and the U.S. Olympic Trials (both in the 110m hurdles). He finished fifth at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Multiple Oregon football writers have already written that they believe Allen should walk away from football to focus on his track career, including The Oregonian's Ken Goe.
