Nevada Mareno Commits To Stanford
After signing maybe the best NCAA middle distance class of all time last year, Stanford apparently still has some scholarship money left. FloTrack No. 1 2017 distance recruit Nevada Mareno told MileSplit tonight that she has verbally committed to sign with Stanford.

The Cardinal's current freshman class includes Christina Aragon and Ella Donaghu, Nos. 4 and 7 on the high school all-time 1500m list; they also have junior Elise Cranny, who's the fifth-fastest HS 1500m runner ever.

Mareno, of Raleigh, North Carolina, has run 4:39 and 10:00 on the track and was third at Foot Locker last fall. She's the top returner for Foot Locker and currently No. 3 in MileSplit's Saucony Flo50 cross country rankings.
