The entry standards for the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London have been released.
Most of these look a lot like the entry standards for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Some of the middle distance events lowered their entries, noticeably the men's and women's 800m--from 1:46.00 to 1:45.90 and 2:01.50 to 2:01.00--although the women's time for the 2015 world championships was 2:01.00.
The qualification period for the 10,000m, Marathon, Race Walks, Relays, and Decathlon/Heptathlon is already underway. Marks recorded on January 1, 2016 until midnight on July 23, 2017 (regardless of the time zone) are acceptable.
The qualification period for all other events began on October 1, 2016 and continues until midnight on July 23, 2017 (regardless of the time zone).
