Tyrese Cooper Becomes The First High Schooler To Break 33 In The 300
Florida sophomore Tyrese Cooper lowered his own national high school record in the 300m today from 33.03 to a mind-boggling 32.87 at the Armory Track Invitational in New York. The time is also a world record for U20 athletes according to Track & Field News, though there is no all-time performer list in the event.
Cooper was also sixth in the Developmental 60m with a time of 6.79 and third in the Developmental 200m in 21.28, both of which rank No. 3 in the nation this year.
The second-fastest performer in prep history is Michael Cherry, whose 33.05 national record stood from 2013 until January of this year.
