NCAA champions and eventual world and Olympic champions have competed inside the Dempsey Indoor to notch some of the best collegiate indoor marks of all time. Izaic Yorks, Sean McGorty make mile history

At last year's championship, track fans got to watch history being made when Izaic Yorks and Sean McGorty duked out the fastest collegiate indoor mile ever run. In a riveting conference showdown, Yorks claimed the victory for the Washington Huskies in a winning time of 3:53.89. McGorty of Stanford followed right behind him in 3:53.95, marking the two fastest indoor miles run by American collegians and the No. 3 and No. 4 all-time indoor marks on any sized track.

Jenna Prandini breaks 60m MPSF record

At the 2015 championships, Oregon's Jenna Prandini lit the track on fire when she claimed the 60m victory in a blazing 7.19, which broke the MPSF meet record. Two weeks later, Prandini claimed a fourth-place finish in the 60m and a runner-up finish in the 200m at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Lawi Lalang smashes 5K meet record

While competing for Arizona, Lawi Lalang consistently dominated on the conference and NCAA level. Eight NCAA titles and eight Pac-12 titles are just a few highlights from his collegiate career. At the 2014 MPSF Championships, Lalang continued to stand out from his conference foes when he pulled away from the field in the 5K to win in a new MPSF meet record of 13:41. Stanford's Joe Rosa and Colorado's Morgan Pearson also established standout performances by bravely running with the pace for second- and third-place finishes in 13:44 and 13:49, respectively.

Phyllis Francis crushes 400m Dempsey record

At the 2013 MPSF Championships, Oregon's Phyllis Francis stormed the women's 400m field to win the championship in a Dempsey Indoor facility record of 52:03. Francis would later go on to help the Ducks win the 4x400m relay at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Washington breaks school, facility, and meet record in the DMR

A stacked women's distance medley relay that included All-Americans and NCAA champions led to a record-setting showdown at the 2012 MPSF Championships. The Washington women's squad of Chelsea Orr, Jordan Carlson, Baylee Mires, and Katie Flood established a winning time of 10:55.01 to crush the Dempsey record. The Oregon squad followed in second with Anne Kesselring on the anchor in 10:55.78, and Cal closed for third with Deborah Maier on the anchor in 10:56.29. The Huskies' performance ranks No. 1 on the collegiate all-time list for oversized tracks. Washington went on to win the NCAA title in the DMR at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships.

Fleet, Berry, Greer, Centrowitz throw down MPSF DMR record

The stacked Oregon squad of Mac Fleet, Mike Berry, Elijah Greer, and Matt Centrowitz laid down a new meet record by winning the distance medley relay in 9:26.78 at the 2011 MPSF championships. Fleet would go on to win two NCAA 1500m titles, Berry would later contribute to the Team USA 4x400m at the world championships. Greer went on to win two NCAA 800m titles, and Centrowitz would eventually become an Olympic champion.

Scott Roth clears NCAA, U.S. lead, and MPSF pole vault record

Washington's pole vault star set a new meet record when he cleared 5.72m at the 2010 MPSF Championships. Roth's performance established an NCAA and U.S. lead. The clearance also ranked No. 4 in the world at the time. Roth went on to win the 2010 NCAA indoor title and later the 2011 NCAA indoor and outdoor titles.

Galen Rupp runs rare 800m to win MPSF

At the time of the 2009 MPSF Championships, Galen Rupp was returning from a breakthrough 2008 season in which the Oregon Duck made the U.S. Olympic team, finished 13th in the 10K at the Beijing Games, and proceeded to win the NCAA Cross Country Championships just three months later. Although Rupp didn't win the 800m at the 2009 MPSF Championships, his 1:49.87 performance still stands as a personal best in the event and shows a glimpse of the impressive range that would eventually lead to an Olympic silver medal in the 10K and the strength to double in the 10K and marathon at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Alysia (Johnson) Montano jumps to the front for meet record

For Alysia Montano (then Johnson), the 2008 MPSF Championships was just one example of the front-running race style that she employed to win the 2007 NCAA indoor and outdoor championships. It was at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Championships (won in 1:59.29) that Montano ran the second-fastest collegiate 800m of all time. She won the MPSF 800m title in a then-meet record of 2:03.39, which also stood as an indoor personal best at the time.
