Two all-time greats hung up their championship track spikes last week at the IAAF World Championships in London. Mo Farah closed out his track career with two more medals finalizing his total at 12 individual medals (10 gold), while Usain Bolt ended his career with a bronze medal, upping his total to 15 individual medals (13 gold).

Below is a chart of the highest scoring athletes at outdoor global championships (World Champs/Olympic Games). The chart scores the athletes based on their career individual event finishes (1st = 10 pts, 2nd = 8 pts, 3rd = 6 pts, 4th = 5 pts, 5th = 4 pts, 6th = 3 pts, 7th = 2 pts, 8th = 1 pt). The reason relays are not included is because field athletes and distance athletes do not have relay opportunities at global championships, thus including relay finishes would inflate sprinter's careers over non-sprinters.
