Charles Hicks, the winner of the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships from Stanford, has gone pro. Hicks will join the Eugene, Oregon-based Bowerman Track Club which includes Grant Fisher, Mo Ahmed and Cooper Teare.

In March, Hicks announced that he had signed an NIL deal with Nike that allowed him to make money from his name, image and likeness while still competing collegiately.

Nike sponsors the Bowerman Track Club.

“Beyond excited to announce that I’ve signed professionally with Nike and the Bowerman Track club,” Hicks posted on his Instagram account.

“Taking a leap of faith to chase everything I’ve ever wanted.”

This spring, Hicks finished second to teammate Ky Robinson in the 10,000m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Hicks has personal bests of 13:24.58 in the 5000m and 27:40.16 in the 10,000m.

Hicks was born in London and moved to the United States where he attended high school. He represented Great Britain on three occasions, and was the 2021 and 2022 European U23 cross country champion.
