Brandon Miller, the 2022 NCAA indoor champion at 800 meters, is headed for a change in scenery.

The former Texas A&M middle-distance star, 20, has signed with the Brooks Beast following a short time training in Los Angeles and after his collegiate spell with the Aggies, which included three NCAA podiums and three SEC titles in the 800m.

Miller, a World Championship qualifier in 2022, owns a personal best of 1:44.97 in the 800m and 1:15.49 for 600m. Miller won two NCAA indoor championships in the 800m and 4x400 over his sophomore season with Texas A&M.

"Having an opportunity to join Brooks is such a blessing," Miller said in a release. "I chose the Beasts because throughout the recruiting process they showed me so much love, and it was genuine.

"Heading into 2024, I want to put my head down and work, enjoy the process and led God handle the rest."

Miller will work under Brooks PR coach Danny Mackey, who led fellow Brooks Beast Josh Kerr to a World title this past August in Budapest. Kerr, a middle-distance star for Great Britain, outkicked Jacob Ingebrigtsen for the World title in the 1,500m.

Miller will also train with a group in Seattle that consists of Devin Dixon, a former Texas A&M Aggie; Isaiah Harris, a World Championship qualifier in 2023 for the U.S. team; and Brandon Kidder and Henry Wynne, among others.

Fellow 800m runner Nia Akins, 25, finished sixth in the 800m at the World Championships in August. She leads Brooks' women's contingent.

"Brandon brings immediate impact to the Brooks Beasts," said Garrett Heath, the head of sports marketing at Brooks Running, "adding tip-of-the-spear talent to our 800m roster along with world championship experience. He also approaches the sport in a fun (&) inviting way that adds to our brand really nicely. We're excited to see what he can do with our team."
