Official Release from American Track League (@americantrack)

More Stars Commit to the American Track League meet in Atlanta on August 1st as the League announces the addition of two more Olympic Gold Medalists. The World's Greatest Athlete, Olympic Champion, and World Record Holder in the Decathlon, Ashton Eaton has joined the already incredible fields at the American Track League meet in Atlanta. Ashton in his preparation for the World Championships will be working on his speed in Atlanta as he opts to race in both the 100m and 400m.

He will go head to head with fellow Olympic Gold Medalist, Jeremy Wariner in the 400m. Wariner will expect to have the upperhand as the 400m is his specialty event where he boasts a personal best of 43.45 seconds. A time which ranks him at #3 on the World's all-time list. In recent years, Wariner's performance has been hampered by injuries, but he is climbing his way back to the top as evidenced by a solid performance in Edmonton two weeks ago where he ran his fastest time in more than 2 years.

But Eaton and Wariner will be tested by the youngest man in the field, Steven Gardiner of the Bahamas. Gardiner, a 19 year old phenom is being touted by many experts as the next Olympic Champion. His time of 44.27 seconds this year makes him the fastest man in the field and the odds on favorite.

Ashton Eaton will not just be challenged by strong competitors in the 400m, as he will face an equally tough 100m field which includes 6 men that have dipped under the 10 second barrier. Eaton himself has a solid personal best of 10.21 seconds in the 100m, making him the World Record for the decathlon 100m.

The event which provides free beer to spectators over the age of 21, will be held at Emory'™s track and field complex at the Woodruff PE Center at 28 Eagle Row, Atlanta, GA 30322. Gates will open at 6:30pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.getATLtix.com or at the gate. The event is one of the most affordable events in town with tickets priced in the range of only $5-$15. For more information, follow the American Track League on Facebook and Twitter @americantrack.
