Who:  Universal Sports will broadcast the fastest man in the world’s first race in 2011. Usain Bolt, the three-time World Champion and three-time Olympic gold medalist, will compete in the IAAF Diamond League for the first time this year on May 26 in Rome, Italy.

What: The Samsung Diamond League is about to get struck by a swift bolt of lightning. After not racing for nine injury-plagued months, the reigning Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt is set to return to the track at the Diamond League meet in Rome, Italy. Bolt is the current world record holder in the 200 meters, but will face some stiff competition from France’s Christophe Lemaitre, the current European Champion, and Bolt’s Jamaican rival Asafa Powell, who is currently sitting atop the Diamond League standings.

The women’s field is highlighted by Allyson Felix, who is the reigning 2010 Diamond League champion in the 200m and 400m. Felix is off to a stellar start again this year after winning the women’s 400m at the first Diamond League competition in Doha, Qatar.  Felix will face tough competition from Botswana’s Amantle Montsho who finished only 0.08 behind Felix in Doha.
