ATTENTION MEDIA: Information on Coverage of 2012 NCAA Track & Field Championships

 

WHO: Nation’s best collegiate track and field athletes and coaches

 

WHAT: 2012 Division I Outdoor Men’s & Women’s Track & Field Championships

 

WHEN: Wednesday, June 6, through Saturday, June 9, 2011

 

WHERE: Drake Stadium, Des Moines, Iowa

 

KEY INFORMATION FOR MEDIA:

 

PRESS CONFERENCE: Featuring select coaches, Tuesday, June 5, 3 p.m., at Levitt Hall in Old Main, on the Drake University campus (southeast corner of campus, near 25th & University). Coaches scheduled to attend include: Pat Henry, Texas A&M; Mike Holloway, Florida; Fred Harvey, Arizona; Dennis Shaver, LSU; Stanley Redwine, Kansas and Robert Johnson, Oregon.

 

CREDENTIALS: Will be available for pickup at the press conference on Tuesday, June 5, and thereafter from 4-6 p.m. in the Drake Stadium press box. Beginning Wednesday, June 6, at 11 a.m. through the entirety of the event, credentials can be picked up at Media Will-Call, at the northeast corner of the stadium complex, at the entrance nearest the softball field.

 

**Media who requested parking passes are strongly encouraged to pick up credentials on Tuesday, rather than at media will-call Wednesday through Saturday.

Wednesday, June 6—Decathlon, Noon; Field events 2:30 p.m.; Running events, 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, June 7—Decathlon/heptathlon, 11:30 a.m./1 p.m.; Field events, 2:30 p.m.; Running events, 5:30 p.m.

—Field events, 2 p.m.; Heptathlon, 3 p.m.; Running events, 5:35 p.m.

RESULTS: Will be available online at NCAA.com and FlashResults.com, and accessible via a link from the Championship Central page on the Drake Athletics website, www.GoDrakeBulldogs.com, which also will include quotes, notes, photos and event information.

TELEVISION/WEBSTREAMING: ESPNU will televise Saturday’s action from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (CT). The ESPN announcing team is comprised of Trey Bender (play-by-play), Larry Rawson (analyst) and Jill Montgomery (reporter). The entire event will be streamed live through ESPN3.com, with the exception of Wednesday, June 6, which will be streamed at www.NCAA.com. It is available for free.

 

TELEVISION/VIDEO USAGE: Per NCAA policy, any third party or media entity wanting to post video online must apply through T3 Media at sales@t3media.com, for a rights approval process. Membership institutions should contact Brian Eldridge or Ben Howell at sports@t3media.com. Local television stations, or stations from participating schools' markets may only shoot their own footage during Wednesday competition. ESPN will televise the meet live on Thursday from 5:15 p.m.-9:15 p.m. (est.) and on Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday coverage will be on ESPNU from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. All times are Central. Championship footage during those times can be obtained by accessing the mult box outside or near the ESPN production truck. Obtained footage is approved for use on regularly scheduled news programs. All other usage (websites, documentaries, etc.), needs to be approved through T3 Media before any posting of footage online.
