Tyreek Hill commits to Oklahoma State
The Oklahoma State may be dominating on the cross-country scene at the moment, but their track and field team just picked up one of the fastest high school sprinters from 2012. Tyreek Hill of Garden City Community College has committed to the Cowboys. Hill told Flotrack that he intends on playing football and running track.
At 5-foot-8 and 185 pounds, Hill expects to play wide reciever for the Cowboys after meeting with coach Mike Gundy. The speed is there for Hill as he ran 10.19 for the 100-meter dash and 20.14 for the 200-meter dash and earned an All-American selection in 2012.
Several Oklahoma State football bloggers have been quick to point out Hill's 20.14 would have him placed sixth at the 2012 Olympic final. Quick reminder that was Hill's fourth race of the day at the 2012 Golden South Classic in Orlando.
Chris Chavez is a staff writer for Flotrack and a journalism major at Marquette University. He once beat Joey Fatone of NSYNC in a half-marathon. Feel free to to reach him with any questions, comments, or feedback on Twitter or by email.
