Flotrack news and links for January 15th, 2014

Happy Wednesday Flotrack! If you were expecting a Workout Wednesday this morning, I'm sorry. I debated putting a picture of a WOW with David Rudisha and linking to this Coffee Talk, but decided that the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. So put down those pitchforks, come grab a seat, and fill up that mug with some sweet, sweet Ethiopian roast.

And now the "news"

Mo' Sub-2:06 guys, Mo Problems

Remember that time all the hype was about Kenenisa Bekele vs. Mo Farah? Time to hop on that new bandwagon!

Asafa Powell couldn't remember the names of his supplements

This is his defense? He couldn't list the supplements because he couldn't remember their names? … oh wait he's serious? Let me laugh even harder.

Let's start with the banned substance, shall we?

Man digs up Bill Bowerman's front yard, finds legendary shoe

In other news, Bill Bowerman's front yard is now one giant excavating site. The shoe, which was one of the first Nike waffle prototypes, sold for $1,500. Just to give you some perspective, Christian Laettner's famous Duke jersey sold for $119,500. Duke basketball still sucks.

This tweet blew up faster than than #Kony2012

We really like Jon Mulkeen also known as Statman Jon. Heck, we even made his top 60 track and field Twitter accounts. So it's kind of funny that we retweeted this picture and presumably broke his phone from all of the notifications. Our bad.

If you liked that tweet, then you'll love the rest of his blog.

More: People think track and field is all about times and distances, but these athletes show there’s more to it than that - Jon Mulkeen

Lolo Jones was on The Biggest Loser and no I didn't watch it and no I don't have a link but this is important news so it should be included in Coffee Talk.
