Joyful in Hope, Patient in Affliction
The season is well underway and in the same breath, I feel like I have hardly begun for the year! So much of the foundation work is in the books and now I hope my racing will show all of the fitness I've gained over the winter and spring months. I am truly excited and energized by the progress I have made so far as our group is gearing up for another exciting adventure. The first really big test comes in just a few very short days with the 1500m at Pre on Friday. My palms sweat and my heart flutters when I think about standing on the starting line on Friday night. The field will be stacked with almost all of the best American women in this event and we'll go head-to-head on a track that has been magical for me in the past. I love the atmosphere of Hayward yet it can be daunting to do such an obvious dress rehearsal in Eugene before the real deal goes off with the Olympic Trials in late June.

One of the additions to our little operation over here in Colorado is that we are launching a website: www.trackjenny.com! It has been an exciting project for Jason and the creatives at Sketchfolio while it is a relief to me. Now my entire family won't have to text me every time they forget which weekend I am racing and where. I hope this is a fun tool for my family and friends to keep up with my progress throughout the year. Especially when I'm traveling around the world I have been informed that it is tough for some of my family, that don't navigate running websites everyday, to track down where I am and how I'm doing. This whole project is dedicated to you :)

What exactly do we have to look forward to? Well, I'm going to be racing this Friday in Eugene and then it is a quick turn around to race in New York the next weekend and then…. wait…. just go to the website, click on "Schedule." Wow, this is going to be nice :) Jason is going to be working throughout the summer to keep it updated as best as possible. As in years past, I'll also be blogging from time to time once we hit the road. Thank you to those who encouraged the website idea, to Jason and his team for making it happen, and to family and friends that will be visiting the site.

Last thing: High school runners from across the country designed their own plaid colorways spikes on the NB nationals page in February. They came up with some pretty cool designs. So I thought it might be fun to pick a couple of my favorite designs and then wear them to race in. Check out TrackJenny.com before Friday night's races if you want to get a sneak peek at the new spikes designed by one of you that I will race in!
