Since retiring from professional running, Ryan Hall gained 40 pounds—but not in the way you might think.
Hall told Erin Strout of Runner’s World that he's been weightlifting six days a week, and even provided his strength workouts.
“I’ve been small and weak my entire life—just, like, totally underdeveloped,” Hall told Runner’s World. “I’ve always wondered what it would feel like to be big and strong.” With a strict lifting and nutritional regime (a 3,500 caloric intake per DAY!), Hall is enjoying putting on the pounds and showing off his new body.
The 2:04 marathoner was the focus of the FloFilm series RESURRECTION before retiring at the age of 33 in January.
