Come join our team! We are a crazy group of track and field, cross country, and road racing athletes, fans, and enthusiasts eager to innovate and deliver the kind of content and coverage fans have been waiting for in the community.

Now Seeking: Content Creator

The Content Creator is an idea generator and executor who knows the difference between something that will resonate with the community and something that won't. They are track and field mavens who can dominate any debate regarding any aspect of the sport. They understand FloTrack's business model and can source storylines and create compelling content to enhance our live events, while also maintaining a pulse on what stories will resonate within the community at large. They have a thirst for knowledge and an insatiable desire to win. We're looking for someone who won't settle for second-best, no matter the situation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create great web content, in both written and video form, from the idea phase to publishing.

Spotlight the sport's top athletes and personalities with interesting stories.

Travel around the world to cover live events. You'll interview athletes, write previews and recaps and feature the biggest stories of each event.

Collaborate with your team in content creation meetings to come up with plans that attract the community and make them want to stick around for more. You'll listen to your audience and adjust your plans accordingly.

Handle multiple content projects at once because you're a multi-tasking machine who can be relied on.

Be a news hound who stays on top of every story and news item to ensure you provide comprehensive coverage of the sport.

Ensure the content you create is in line with our unique voice and brand guidelines.

You should already be a social media influencer who actively participates in your community while marketing the content you create to those who seek it.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

You are an authority on the sport and obsessive about staying on top of the latest developments.

You are a fantastic shooter and editor, as well as a meticulous writer. Grammar mistakes and bad audio mixing drive you crazy. 

You are an innovator who loves to come up with creative new ways to develop and present content, particularly when it comes to video projects. 

You love your camera—both being behind the lens and in front of it—and are just as good at vlogging as you are shooting interviews with high-profile athletes.

You love the feeling of breaking news before anyone else, but you also understand being right is more important than being first.

You are organized. You know how to prioritize your time. You manage multiple projects with ease.

You are creative and analytical. You enjoy coming up with unique takes on stories and refuse to do something that has been done before. You thrive on taking an idea and making it a reality.

You're a social media savant. You know how to write creative and engaging tweets that burn like fire in your community.

You work well with management, but you’re also more than capable of doing stuff on your own.

You wake up each day looking for a win. You can't wait to create new ideas and then execute them to perfection. You are competitive and driven to be the best.

You have a bachelor's degree from a four-year college.

DESIRED

Highly organized, self-motivated and adaptable to change.

Expertise in video—from editing vlogs to producing and directing mini-documentaries.

Knowledge of HTML, photo editing tools (e.g. Photoshop, Pixelmator) and MS Office.

Knowledge of AP Style is preferred.

Knowledge of video editing tools (Final Cut, Premier, Avid) is preferred.

Austin is home to of tons of amazing, unique restaurants -- from healthy, locally sourced options to mouth-watering burger and pizza joints -- this city has it all. Our favorite has to be the abundance of tasty food trucks. Some of the best food we've ever had has come from these four-wheel wonders, and we love to explore the city and discover new bites to eat. You run 10 miles a day, you'll be fine.
