The IAAF will award a 'bye' to the 2019 Diamond League champions. Therefore, if an American wins the Diamond League USATF will be able to send up to four athletes in that event as opposed to the standard three per event.

Note: Defending World Champions take precedent over Diamond League Champions when it comes to earning a 'bye'
