Katie Follett, Washington
Katie Follett was Washington's top runner at NCAA's last year finishing 19th and becoming the Huskies first All-American since 2001. This year at the conference meet she was the 5th women on the team....funny thing was, she was 5th overall!
With less than two weeks to go, Katie and the girls are excited to compete and ready to do what they've been doing all year.

German Fernandez, OK State
German Fernandez has been running as not only one of the top freshman of the year, but also one of the top NCAA athletes of the year so far. He just came off of an individual and team Big 12 title this past weekend and will now look forward to the NCAA Regional and National meets.
This interview was done a few weeks back and German talks about last year's 2 mile record, his goals for this year and the future, and how the team is hoping to win Big 12 and NCAA titles. Big 12s can be checked off that list....
Check out his OK State bio HERE.
Scotty Bauhs going Pro
A press conference held to anounce Scotty Bauhs going pro. This is the first press conference we have seen since we started Flotrack and we think it is a great idea. All the other sports talk about going pro and have press conferences but it seems like a taboo subject and that is part of the reason that most people in our country have no idea that there are professional runners. We hope we see more of these along with press conferences when athletes sign their endorsement contracts.

Mike Fout, FSU
Michael Fout, the 2007 Footlocker CC Champ, battled injuries all through the spring following his national championship honors. Now he's at FSU and is excited about getting back to racing with the big dawgs.
Chad Hall, UC Riverside
Chad Hall made the switch this year from Oregon to UC Riverside. Flotrack's Kevin Selby was able to have a brief chat with him at the Mt. SAC XC Invite to see how he's enjoying his new school.
Ryan Vail, Oklahoma State
Ryan Vail finished 11th at the 2007 NCAA XC Championships, while the team finished 3rd. This year Vail would like to secure a top ten spot at NCAAs along with giving his team a shot at the title. He talks about this season, having more guys to workout with, and the plan as the head into the championship part of the season.

Before the madness begins, Flotrack will be tailgating at LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course on Sunday, November 23rd and the morning of the meet on the 24th. But first we need to get there.....is it time for another White Pearl adventure???
Susan Kuijken, FSU
Last year Susan Kuijken finished 3rd at the NCAA XC Championships. She followed up her great season with a indoor championship in the 3k (8:58). After indoors she came down with a plantar injury that took her out much longer than anticipated. She worked hard to finish as an All-American in outdoor, but now that she's healthy she'll be looking to do bigger and better things!
This past weekend she finished second to Brie Felnagle at Notre Dame and with 2 weeks until Pre-Nats, FSU is ranked #3 in the nation.

Jeremy Mineau, Washington
Two years ago as a sophomore the future looked bright for Jeremy Mineau. During the '06 Indoor season Jeremy set the UW indoor 5k record (13:54) and then ran the second fastest 10k all-time outdoors at UW (28:49). He followed up a great track campaign with a 53rd place finish at the '06 NCAA Championships, just outside the All-American honors. Soon after injury struck. Two stress fractures and almost two years later, Jeremy is back! Most recently he finished 10th at the Pac-10 Championships, leading his team to a 3rd place finish. With the West Regional in two days, Jeremy likes Washington's chances at getting to another NCAA Championship. We'll see this Saturday!

Scott McPherson, ARK
Scott McPherson is a senior at Arkansas who was with Coach McDonnell for the past 3 years. Now with a coaching change in Coach Bucknam, a new era at Arkansas has begun and McPherson has never had more fun running in his life!
Jake Morse, Texas
Last year Jake Morse finished 2nd in the Indoor NCAA Championships in the mile (4:00) and then finished 4th at the Olympic Trials in the steeplechase. With some big expectations for his last cross season, Jake was hit with some injury problems that set him back. After a disappointing showing at the Big 12 meet, Jake bounced back to finish 5th in the South Central Region and punch his ticket to nationals. Watch out for Jake on Monday, Nov 24th as he toes the line for his last NCAA XC race.
Shadrack Songok, Texas A&M
Shadrack Songok, who was last year at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, is now in grad school at Texas A&M (College Station). Last year Songok was the last qualifier in the Indoor 5k (actually qualified 6 days before the national meet). That next week he won the NCAA Indoor 5k. He followed it up with another national championship in the NCAA Outdoor 10k. What does this mean? Shadrack can race! With regionals one day away and nationals 10 days later, Shadrack and his team are going into the South Central region ranked #1....the first time Arkansas hasn't been sitting on top. They are looking to make the journey to Terre Haute as a team. As for the individual race at NCAAs....this is one guy you can't count out.
Luke Gunn, FSU
Luke Gunn was hoping to become the NCAA steeple champ this past outdoor season. When it didn't happen he decided he would be back at Florida State and fortunately was granted a '6th year' (3rd year in reality). He'll be thinking alot about what he'll be doing next year, whether that is the 'real world' or becoming a professional runner. In cross, the Seminoles finished 20th at NCAA last year and are looking to make bigger strides in '08. As he enters his final year as a collegiate, Luke discusses the Seminole team's goals for the cross season and also his personal goals for 2008-2009.

John McNichols, ISU
Coach McNichols of Indiana State University has had a vison for Terre Haute, IN for over 20 years and this vision is starting to take shape. Coach McNichols wants to make Terre Haute, IN into the Cross Country Capitol of the US and the World (He has not said this......yet.). Terre Haute, IN has held XC nationals six times and they just got awarded the 2009 race held on the Levearn Gibson Course, one of the few "cross country only" courses in the US. Terre Haute, under McNichols' guidance, is currently making over 40 miles of trails to promote the sport with the locals in the community. McNichols has even bigger plans for Terre Haute, XC and Indiana State University and in this interview he talks about them...
