I have been watching Tommy run since he was in high school. He always loved running and his high school did not have a cross country team. His father worked hard to get Mineral Point High School in a co-op with Dodgeville High School to create Dodge-Point Cross Country. They had co-oped in track for years. Before the co-op he would come and practice with the team, and then run as an individual in races. You knew from the beginning that he had the heart and soul of a runner. It is wonderful to see him living the dream - running, it is what he has always loved to do.

Tommy was a good runner in high school, with a p.r. of around 4:19. He showed flashes of his sub 4 talent throughout his first four years at Marquette, but really came around his fifth year of track. Ended up 2nd at the Big East indoor in the 1000 meters and then ran 3:45 outdoors to break the school record. Has been really devoting his life to running the past couple of years since graduating college and his times are coming down.
