For the last 11 years the 12 kilometer senior mens team has not captured the individual gold medal in the World Cross Country Championships, leaving the Ethiopians and Eritreans to share the spoils. This years squad led by the overall Team Captain Richard Kipkemboi Mateelong, heads to Bydgoszcz Poland with only one mission; to end Kenyas decade long wait for the elusive gold.
