Genial

What Sammy did the last couple of miles of this race was a tactic. He wasn't completely tired. He kept pulling up to his competitor and then dropping back repeatedly to make kebede think he was struggling drastically and then waited almost for the straightaway to but the pedal to the floor.

When I need inspiration I come watch this video. RIP Sammy and thanks for showing us what racing is all about.

The race of all time, RIP Sammy

i hope his death was accidental as it seems, not suicide as so many lazy reporters are squawking. if someone with that much passion, ability and training has no reason to live, what's the point?

RIP Sammy.

You raised the bar for all those who will follow in your footsteps.

Obviously this person has a hard time, but is trying the be that he/she can.
And you're (not "your") obviously having a hard time, too ? "? trying the be that he/she can"??? ? which might explain why you're so angry.

Frazier Ali? Why not use the Duel in the Sun reference?

Nothing is going to equal an exciting performance like that unless we can see an American battle to a victory. Ritz has guts like that. I hope he gets himself in place for a major marathon win in the future. I believe watching Ritz win a marathon is going to be exciting. But this Chicago race was terrific!!!

Am I mistaken, but at 3:44 does Toni Reavis say, "What balls this guys got?" I thought I heard it live, but wasn't sure. Classic. Just Classic. Saying what everyone is thinking. Great race.
Haha I heard that too. Way to go Toni, speak the truth!

What a kick. Dude is the man!!!

This ranks right up there with top kicks in races over 8k The only kick that compares is that of Chris Solinsky at Payton Jordan where he ran 1:56.2 for his last 800m. Thank you Flotrack and NBC for the coverage.

Excellent video!! Excellent runner...
I will say, money notwithstanding, I'drather win bill Dellinger than any marathon..I'd rather win Chile Pepper, Pre-nats, Cowboy Invite, of course nationals...
