Good perspective with Todd Williams. What is he doing now, other than offering some great aspect to the content?

Steeple Mom 11 months ago

Thats was totally messed up! The NBC camera was sitting on an empty long jump track and the man and woman announcer were just shooting the bull. Then they say Opps sorry guys we just heard that NBC isnt showing the Steeple and its over now. NBC BITES and really needs to leave the video and announcing to FloTrack.

Liam Clemons 11 months ago

There is not broadcast of the steeple anywhere? Lapse between NBC and Universal. Why can't they show it on the webcast if it is not on TV? NBC is the worst thing to happen to track since football.

Steeple Mom 11 months ago

Does anyone know Why the running events arent being shown?

Patrick Kelly 11 months ago

"Larry Rawson just quoted Gladiator."

Haha. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the random use of "what we do in life echoes in eternity"

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

first track event today is M400H at 12:20 PT

miffed viewer 11 months ago

have the track events been postponed. there is no video or results posted

"Why do people think that i want to get on and listen to peoples opinions that have no effects on the races itself. "

Yeah, who's ever heard of analysts discussing a sporting event beforehand? It's not like EVERY other sport has this before EVERY competition! You're an idiot. How can you diss on the best thing to come into track coverage in years? Thank you Flotrack!

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

LOVE the pre-race show! Are you guys going to do this at Worlds too?

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

what the hell are these guys talking about? id rather watch races from previous years. Why do people think that i want to get on and listen to peoples opinions that have no effects on the races itself.

speaking of 11 months ago

there's random coverage on ESPN2 that wan't listed in any of the schedules. maybe they're trying to make up for last night?

Living Vicariously 11 months ago

Ryan and Selby, on one of the pre-race shows PLEASE discuss a bit about why the video/TV coverage is so awful, the rights seem to be so scattered and messed up, rights always seem to go to the same network with 100% historic failure rate, fans are struggling to be able watch the meet, who decides these things and what the community can do about it?

Please speak frankly and candidly about this. Where is the failure occuring? Who is to blame? This never seems to change despite a lot of worked up and dissapointed fans. WHY? HOW? Track fans want real answers and Flotrack is probably the only place we might acutally get them.

who knows if Gatlin even did actually do anything wrong. considering WADA's admissions this week, clearing athletes who's positive test are now admitted errors, after they've been banned for years, oops

WADA is a loose cannon, a career-destroying cannon

qaq 11 months ago

who cares if we are sending Gatlin? yes he made a mistake. He served his suspension and has proved that he deserves to be there. The only reason he shouldnt go is if he got beat

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

I can't believe we're sending Gatlin to worlds.

dsflos 11 months ago

Thanks to ESPN and NBC controling the airwaves, all of us distance running fans can't watch all the laps of the steeple and the 5000. Watching a bunch of out of shape Golfers hit a golf ball for the same amount of time is more fan appealing- NOT!! We're screwed again!!

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

Larry Rawson just quoted Gladiator. They confused Bauhs and Nelson on the 10k recap. These clowns have go to go. They could at least pretend to be engaged Track fans.

Patrick Kelly 11 months ago

it's great watching them throw javelin and hearing 5,000m audio coverage on the live stream.

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

yup, TV only. last night was awesome but now network TV has arrived in Eugene to do ty coverge and block everyone who knows what they're talking about (Flotrack)

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

JACK

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

this is me off

jasonfm 11 months ago

Is that TV only then?

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

ESPN2 only. It starts in 20 minutes. Don't too excited. They'll probably screw it up. Years ago I never could have guessed that I would wish track meets would NOT be televised.

Jasonfm 11 months ago

Does anyone know if there is any stream for the men's 5000m final? I'd love to see it.

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

the live feed is now showing some races on the track ,women's steeple is being shown right now, but not others, maybe the ones TV does and does not want to show later tonight?

Living Vicariously 11 months ago

I just noticed that the races are being posted on Runnerspace right now shortly after they're run. I just watched the 800 semis.

So the USATF live feed can't show video of races that TV will later "cover" terribly, but Runnerspace can archive near-live race vids and Flotrack is allowed to do near-live post race interviews but no race vids or commentary?
What a mess. You need a decoder-ring and a secret map to be a track fan. Who is the mastermind behind all this idiocy?

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

Agreed. Flotrack is the best. They seem to just be making the most of what they can get. Why the people "guiding" the sport into the ground can't figure things out is amazing. They need to unleash the big dogs at Flotrack and let them run.

DUMBASHELL 11 months ago

You're MAD at the wrong people. "why can't they get the rights any big time meets?" Good question why don't you ask meet organizers? In this case USATF. They sell us out to ESPN/NBC crapp. Why can't they have the network televise (horribly) AND let the real pros like Flo and Runnerspace show web coverage? Because they don't get it and want to keep the sport dead in the 80s.

MADASHELL! 11 months ago

flotrack is such a joke. when it comes to big time meets (NCAA champs, USA champs, and so on), their so called "coverage" sucks! ALL they have is interviews and results! you are such a bigtime website. why can't you get the rights to any big time meets!?
