If there was any advantage for Oscar in using phrosthetics, then all double amputees should be in the running, facts is he is good and train well and they do not! |

there'll be talk of banning prosthetics from open comp again and there are those who'll whine that he has extra spring and less lactic build up....... but having no calf muscles guarantees a lousy start and poor first bend each time he races. |

"Good for him but he would have probably never broken 50 seconds if he had normal legs. |

didnt the interview say that his prosthetic limbs allow like 92% bounce and the human ankle allows like an 89% bounce? thats not that big of a difference plus its a challenge in itself to learn how to use those things well. im not sayin i would be all for puttin his name down on the record sheet should be break the record one day but im just sayin i think its always a pretty fair race even when hes in it. he doesnt have a huge advantage at all |

It's obviously easier for double amputees to run than single amputees. Cutting edge technology for legs. I'm gonna stop caring, but if he breaks Micheal Johnson's world record I'll be pissed. |

Good for him but he would have probably never broken 50 seconds if he had normal legs. Those prosthetic limbs are an enormous advantage. What a joke and travesty it will be if he breaks the 400m WR. I'm just saying what everyone's afraid to say. |

Oscar runs his 400 like Wallace Spearmon runs his 200m. he he worked on his start and being more aggressive on the first 200m he can def make the final in Daegu and possibly challenge for a medal. I mean he went from 45.61 to 45.07 thats a pretty crazy pr. Plus only his second time breaking 46. He is just soooo inspirational. |

This is why i love flotrack. I can be working in Virginia all week. And when I get a min, go online and catch the one man ever, who has tried to and succeeded to run as a double leg amputee, qualify for the world championships. Like a day after. If media outlets in America really cared about something uplifting, heartwarming, and just incredible that is NEWS, then this would be on ESPN or the Today show. I'm glad I can count on Flotrack to getting to this meet in the middle of Italy (I've never even heard of this place, Lignano) and proud to be a part of this great track community. Thanks Flotrack!!! |

How about that other dude jumping on him, making him fall over, and then trying to snag his victory lap. |
