Throwback NCAA XC 2012 Predictions
Indeed this was a long time ago, and lots of things have changed, and these are by no means are official pre season rankings. but still, lets get the chatter going. .. Its about time to say goodbye to 2011 Cross Country season forever....but not before we look towards 2012! Ryan and Alex take a look at the fields and give their predictions for the 2012 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Let's hear what you got....
WOW Texas Mile Repeats XC 2011
The Longhorns maybe a little young this year, but that didn't matter at The Wisconsin Invite earlier this season. A few days after the men came back from Madison they took to an East Austin Golf Course to have some mile repeats for breakfast. The Longhorns looked comfortable this weekend at the South Central Regional, and are chomping at the bit to get to Terre Haute. Workout:
6x Mile, off 6:30 intervals (run a mile, rest until elapsed time has reached 6:30 then back at it!)
Workout Wednesday - Georgetown Preps for Big East Champs 2011
After starting the season ranked #1 in the polls, Georgetown faced a few bumps along the road but is set to go for the championship season. The Hoyas are led by veterans Emily Infeld and Emily Jones but also have a strong core of freshmen and sophomores looking to be important contributors to the team. The workout takes place at the Polo Fields in Washington, D.C., a picturesque location near some of the nation's most iconic sights. Georgetown will next take part in the Big East Cross Country Championships in Lousville where they will face some of the best teams in the nation including Villanova, Providence and Syracuse. Princeton Fall Progression Run Workout
After a hard fought win at Heps days before before, the #9 ranked Tigers do a neighborhood progression run just outside of campus. The men pick up the pace as they complete each 1.4 mile loop. After resting their #3 and their #2 being coming back from illness, this Ivy league squad is looking to make some noise in Terre Haute.

Sheila Reid Villanova 2-time National XC Champion NCAA XC Champs 2011
In one of the most exciting women's races we've seen in some time, Sheila Reid outlasted and out kicked a strong field to win her second consecutive NCAA title, the first women to repeat since Sally Kipyego. The Villanova women, who were running for their third consecutive team title, finished third overall in the standings and only 19 points outside the victory.

Lawi Lalang of Arizona took off and dominated the field a little after the 4 kilometer mark to win his first NCAA cross country title while in a hotly contested team battle, Wisconsin took top honors over the two time defending champion Oklahoma State Cowboys. For Wisconsin coach Mick Byrne, it was him first team title in his 27 years of coaching.

Chris Derrick Stanford 2nd overall in final NCAA XC Champs 2011
Chris Derrick has his highest finish at an NCAA Championships with a runner-up performance and caps off four straight years in the top 10, the only runner in the NCAA with the honor. Chris finishes his collegiate xc career with great achievements and accolades but seems to be missing a little something more, a national championship and giving himself a shot to win.

Jenny Simpson reflects on 2009 NCAA XC collapse
After finishing 5th in the world, Jenny Simspon (Barringer then) decided to stay at the University of Colorado for her final cross country season with the goal of winning her first NCAA Cross Country title. After showing dominance through the whole season, Simpson who was in an exciting battle with Florida State's Susan Kuijken, all of a sudden slowed down and eventually collapsed. People could not believe what they were seeing as Jenny managed to get up and finish the race. Not exactly how she envisioned her final collegiate race and here Jenny looks back at the experience. Jordan Hasay Oregon runner-up and 5th place team at NCAA XC Champs 2011
Jordan Hasay of Oregon finishes second at the 2011 NCAA Cross Country Championships as she loses in the final meter of the race for the second consecutive year to Villanova's Sheila Reid. Hasay ran strong and led her Duck teammates to a surprise 5th place finish in the team standings.
The Machine: Stanford's Driving Force
For nearly two decades, individuals on Stanford men's team have taken pride in their respective parts of "The Machine". While many have functioned as part of The Machine, the 2011 team will be contributing to it as they attempt to win Stanford's first national title since 2003.
