Ryan Hall's first tempo run for Houston 2012
We look back about 2 months to Ryan Hall's first tempo run in NYC as he started his build up to the Houston 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials. The workout comes less than four weeks after Chicago and only 9 weeks before the Olympic Trials. Less just say Ryan looked smooth and recovered from Chicago....he even surprised himself. Workout: Tempo Run (either 12 miles or 65 minutes, whichever came first) Location - Central Park (roads and rolling terrain)

Dathan Ritzenhein back and training for 2012 Olympic Trials
Dathan Ritzenhein, a 2-time US Olympian, is coming off of injury along with some other crazy set backs. Its been almost a year since we've last seen him race but as we heard from his mouth, he is back! Dathan talks to Flotrack's Kevin Selby at the Chicago Marathon Expo about what's happened over the past year or so and where he is at now. Ritz says he will soon announce some races he'll be doing as he prepares for the Houston Olympic Marathon Trials in January 2012.

Chris Erichsen - Mile Repeats - 2011 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials
Chris Erichsen returned to Saint John's University in Collegeville, MN for six weeks of training leading up to the 2011 USA Olympic Marathon Trials held in Houston, TX on January 14th. Chris ran 6 x 1 mile on a cool, foggy December day ranging from 4:45 to 4:50 with 4:00 jog recovery between reps. Warm-up, workout, and cool-down totaled 18 miles for the morning in the middle of a 150 mile week. Chris would like to thank Target Corp. for their phenomenal support. They were kind enough to grant him a three-month paid leave of absence leading up to the Trials. Chris has been a business analyst at Target Headquarters in Minneapolis, MN for three years and continues to work there full-time. Chris has won his first two marathons; at Fargo in 2010 and at Virginia Beach in 2011. His personal best going into the Trials is 2:18.25 from the latter race. Chris also ran 1:04.29 at the Gary Bjorklund-Marathon in Duluth, MN this past June. His qualifying times rank him 63rd in the 163 runner field. Chris looks to improve upon his personal best in Houston and finish as high as possible.

Dathan Ritzenhein disappointed with 4th at 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials
Dathan Ritzenhein finishes 4th at the 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston. Dathan was with the main pack for much of the race and over the last 6 miles started fading. He made a charge towards the ending, just finishing third place by 8 seconds. For Dathan, his time of 2:09:55 was a five second person best.

Kara Goucher this year was really hard
Kara Goucher finished third in the 2012 US Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston after have a year of ups & downs and changes. The 33 year old gave birth to her first child, experience injury, late starts to training and major changes in coaching. She overcame much adversity to make second Olympic Team and will head to London this summer!

Ryan Hall going for broke in London
Ryan Hall will be heading to his second Olympic Games in the marathon. This time around Ryan Hall says he's going for broke, going into the race with the open mind and not scared to mix it up with the best guys in the world. Some people think the Olympic Marathon may be a tactical affair where as Hall says it may take a PR to win. Hall finished second at the 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston this past weekend.
