Galen Rupp after American 2 Mile record & thoughts on Lagat
This past Saturday Galen Rupp broke Bernard Lagat's American indoor 2 mile record by .35 running 8:09.72 with splits of 4:07-4:02. Across the country Lagat took down Rupp's American indoor 5k record by about six seconds running 13:05. We made the trek to Albuquerque where Rupp is currently doing altitude training with his Oregon Elite group including Mo Farah and Ciaran O'Lionaird through the USA Indoor Championships. Galen talks about his race, sinus infection, Geoff Hollister and going head to head with Bernard Lagat at the end of the month. And if you're wondering, Galen is doing an easy 4 mile run on the treadmill at about 6:10 pace.

Simply the most historic indoor track & field event in the world, the Millrose Games, will be Saturday, February, 11, 2012, at its new location ÃÂÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory. The country's top men's and women's track & field athletes along with the finest college and high school student-athletes will showcase their talents on the "world's fastest indoor track." The 2012 Millrose Games are expecting to see challenges to long-standing records as the Armory track is renown for fast times. The road to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London runs through the Armory.

Matt Centrowitz's decision to go pro & current training schedule
Matt Centrowitz decide to forgo his final seasons of eligibility at the University of Oregon to pursue a professional career in track and field. Centrowitz tells us his decision to turn pro and advice he got from Leo Manzano & Bernard Lagat about his decision. Centro reveals his current training schedule as he is with Alberto Salazar's Oregon Elite group, while still at school in Eugene. We also learn how much he trains with old teammates Andy Wheating and AJ Acosta.
Kyler Merber Millrose & Oklahoma Transfers
Columbia's Kyle Merber, a 3:58 miler and All-American, is healthy at the start of indoor track for the first time since 2010. Recently it was announced that Merber will run the Wannamaker Mile at the Millrose Games where a few milers will attempt to take the collegiate down, 3:55.02. Merber talks about his training, Millrose and also gives his opinion on the recent miler transfers to the University of Oklahoma.

Katie has experienced new changes in the past few months including moving to Portland, getting married and working with new coach Sean Coster. Jenny Simpson has been top five in the world in both the 1500 meters and the steeplechase. While she has the American steeplechase record, Simpson won the world championships in 2011. Let's not forget Jenny is the fastest collegiate ever over 5000 meters and one of a few women in the US that is currently under the 15 minute barrier. With the Olympic year in front of us, the goal for any athlete and their career is to make it to London this August. Erik Van Ingen of Binghamton sets a new PR of 3:56 in the Millrose Games' Wanamaker Mile. The time comes a few weeks after running a 7:56 PR in the 3k. Van Ingen was 5th last year indoors in the mile and 6th outdoor in the 1500 at the NCAA Championships. He talks about the race, his season and what separates different athletes.
